About Us

The Filipino Association of Greater Kansas City is a non-profit, non-political, and non-sectarian organization incorporated in 1976 with the purpose of promoting and preserving the Filipino cultural heritage and further better relationships and understanding among the people of Greater Kansas City.


Activities

The Filipino Association always has a full slate of ongoing activities, whether it’s learning and promoting our culture, working and fundraising in the community, or hosting events to celebrate our hard work.

Filipino Cultural Center

Our “home” is the Filipino Cultural Center (map), which opened in 2000. This is where we hold major events, such as cultural performances and art exhibits. At this campus is also another building, commonly referred to as the Philippine House, where we hold the monthly general membership meetings and other minor events.

History

In one form or another, a Filipino “association” has existed as long as there has been Filipinos in the greater Kansas City area. A historical perspective of Filipino pioneers through the years will make us appreciate their valuable contributions that led to the efforts of others to our current status. More...
